  Well, Im only floating a passage of scripture for consideration.
  But lets consider your response, little toe...
  It was God Himself who said "they have become like us" (Gods).
  So, if you believe in the Sacred scriptures I think you must conceed that Man must Certainly have become more Godlike, because God said they had.
  From the perspective of one rejecting the scriptures as sacred,I might say that mankinds mind attained a facet that it did not have before. A KNOWLEDGE. An that knowledge is always a plus, not a minus.
  One might use the very example of this forum as an example.
  Persons come here and discover things they never knew. Those discoveries certainly take them out of the comfort zone of their nice safe little Witness beliefs, but would anyone of us now deny the knowledge we now have and return to warm, ignorance?
  I think not.

  With regards to Eve being dominated and thus her new found knowledge a curse rather than a blessing, I say that Eve only came to be dominated because that was a punishment inflicted upon her by the God.

  ..."And the Lord God commanded the man, saying,Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die"...

  thats Gods position

  Next,Genesis 3 verse 4,5
  ..."And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die:
  For God doth know that in the day ye eat therof, then your eyes shall be opened,and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil"...

  Thats the devils position

  Heres the wash up:Genesis 3 verse 22
  ..."And the Lord God said, Behold,the man is become as one of us,to know good and evil,and now,lest he put forth his hand and take also of the tree of life,and eat,and live forever. Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden"...

  My postulation:
  God lied. The man did not die in the same day.
  The serpent truthed, the humans became as Gods. Even God admitted this fact in verse 22. Indeed, the humans might not have "surely died" if they had the brains to run to the tree of life before God found out about their sin.

  Any opinions?

  Note also the term "gods", indicating plurality of Gods.

  yes, most posters here seem to await the fall and decline of the jw religion with glee.. but, my question for you is twofold:.

  1. how long will it be before the jw's disappear?

  how do you see that occurring?.

  My personal opinion is that Christianity, per se, in the Western World is on the way out.
  I think the increase in knowledge, the unifying of the world into one whole, the world economy, etc, are all signs of a shift in world consciousness towards greater freedom of thought and tolerance. Perhaps a world belief system will end up as part of this shift, but I think it unlikely that Christianity will be that belief system.

  Of course, it is possible I am totally decieved in my thinking.
  It is possible we all are, and that the world is shifting towards the greatest, most monstrous control system ever concieved by mind.
  History would suggest that mankind will not make the transition to freedom that everyone dreams of, instead, descending into darkness.

  These, of course, are polarized positions.
  I freely admit there may be limitless possibilities.
  Perhaps Antichrist will rule over a dark, controlled world for 7 years, before Christ returns.
  Perhaps aliens will arrive to help us make the shift.
  Perhaps the aliens will be, in actuality, demons.
  Perhaps the "new agers" are right, and before the year 2012, the chosen ones will "ascend" into 5th Dimension. Or 4th dimension. Or 11th.

  Frankly, I dont know.

  writes about rutherford, they refer to him as "joseph rutherford",.

  never as "judge rutherford"?.

  Brother Amazing, dont sell us and yourself short buddy!
  The Apostate dudes like Mr Silent Lambs and Kent et al, this site too, are doing a lot of damage. Those guys at headquarters are thinkin about us, dont worry about that.
  I know a guy here in Australia a few years ago mailed a hundred letters to good little dubs and wound up getting a reaction.They shifted mailing policy a smidge to prevent the same thing happening again. Every little thing hurts, maybe not straight away, but it builds up, until the balance tips and the Brooklyn fossils have to compensate.

  If uncle Joe only served on the bench 4 days as a fill in no wonder they are shifting from calling him "Judge". What an ambarrassment for them. Who do we have to thank for this shift of direction? Rotten little apostates. Good for us!

  As a dub I was always terrified when speaking, not only having notes written out word for word but also notes in pen written all over my hands. That was years ago.
  Nowadays I will be first to leap up and speak before any audience and 12 months ago delivered a stirring off the cuff funeral oratory that reduced a mass of grown men to alternating tears and laughter .

  for those of us with years of acquaintance with the wt and its teachings, it's clear that full acceptance of the 1914 date as the establishment of god's kingdom in the heavens is a non-negotiable condition of remaining in good standing in the organization.

  many of us know people who've been booted out just for expressing misgivings, lety alone outright denying this teaching.

  almost as central, and as non-negotiable, is the teaching that only baptised jws can expect to survive the big a.. .

  It seems improbable that very many Witnesses would question the "1914 Kingdom" matter. This is a divinely revealed truth, and only a few who were already on the road out of the org would question it.

  Matters pertaining to the destruction of Human beings are a different matter.
  There are many things in the Bible itself that are contrary to human compassion. The Org leaders know this in their heart of hearts and tend to avoid those passages dealing with children getting killed for their fathers sins, and not refer to them. The members, ordinary shop floor members, are all decent people basically, and would nt see anyone hurt, people killed, and they experience "worldlings" and know many of them are just good ordinary folk, and so they hold personal misgivings about Armaggedon Annihilation.
  The whole problem is in the taking of every word in the Bible as literal. The World has to get away from this, The OT and NewT are in many ways contradictory of each other. Belief in Bible literality is on the way OUT.
  The juggernaut is in motion. Nothing will stop it now, save a worldwide repression of thought by a World controlling authority.
